Casey O’Connell is a storyteller and filmmaker

Through her creative work, Casey O’Connell aims to explore the more vulnerable, honest, and contradictory moments that shape us. Her writing is often deeply personal (as she calls it: fan fiction based on her own life.)

In another life, she studied filmmaking, photography and screenwriting, graduated from The New School, and has directed, written, and produced several short film projects.

In 2025, Casey self-published her first short novel, In Quiet Spaces—an illustrated story told through the character Lyla's intimate journal entries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She currently works as a Communications and Marketing Director and freelance writer, and lives in Rosendale with her familiar, Pia—a Scottish Unfold named after a fuzzy Norwegian tarantula.
